Terms of service
The agreement between WeMasjid and the masjid using it. Last updated 8 November 2026.
The service
WeMasjid provides prayer-timetable management, hall displays, public masjid pages, donation collection, Gift Aid administration and a congregant app to registered masajid on a subscription basis. The service is provided by WeMasjid [CHECK registered legal entity + address to be added before launch] (“we”, “us”). By creating an account the masjid's authorised representative accepts these terms on its behalf.
Subscription & trial
- New masajid get a 3-month Pro trial — no card required up front.
- The Free plan is £0 (1 screen, 5 slides, no donations). Pro is £25/month or £250/year, billed through Stripe. You can switch interval, switch to Free or cancel any time from Settings → Plan & billing, which opens the Stripe customer portal.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. If a subscription lapses, admin access pauses until you subscribe or continue on Free; public pages and displays keep serving the last published state. After a failed payment there is a 14-day grace period before editing pauses; nothing is deleted, and your data stays exportable for as long as the masjid account exists.
- Prices may change with 30 days' notice by email and in the dashboard.
Donations
- Donations are processed by Stripe into the masjid's own Stripe account — funds never pass through ours. We charge no platform fee on donations (0%) — only Stripe's own card fees apply. If that ever changes it will be shown in the giving dashboard and announced 30 days ahead.
- The masjid is responsible for its own charity registration, Gift Aid claims, and complying with Fundraising Regulator and Charity Commission rules. We provide the tooling, not compliance advice.
- Refunds follow Stripe's rules. The committee can refund any card donation in full from the giving dashboard; terminal volunteers can reverse a payment they took within 30 minutes on the device.
Acceptable use
You must not use WeMasjid to:
- publish unlawful, defamatory or hateful content, or content you don't have rights to;
- misrepresent the masjid or another organisation, or collect donations for unregistered causes while claiming charitable status;
- probe, load-test or interfere with the service or other tenants, or resell access without written consent.
We may suspend accounts that breach these terms, with notice where practical.
Your content
The masjid keeps ownership of everything it publishes (notices, slides, timetable data, branding). You grant us a licence to store, process and display it as needed to run the service, including on your public page and in the app. You're responsible for the accuracy of prayer times and content shown on your displays.
Availability & liability
- We aim for a dependable service but don't warrant uninterrupted availability; prayer-time displays should always be checked against the masjid's own published timetable.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability is capped at the subscription fees paid in the 12 months before the claim; we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing excludes liability that can't be excluded (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
Data protection
Each party meets its UK GDPR obligations — see the privacy notice. The masjid is controller for its congregants' data; we act as processor under these terms [CHECK a formal DPA schedule may be needed for onboarding charities — to be attached].
General
- These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales; courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
- We may update the terms with 30 days' notice by email; continued use after that is acceptance.
- If any clause is unenforceable the rest stand. You can't transfer the agreement without our consent.
